According to the 2021 Red List of Italian nesting birds, the Egyptian vulture is classified as Critically Endangered with only about ten pairs remaining in the country. To prevent the risk of its imminent extinction, the CERM Association implements concrete measures to strengthen the Italian population, including:
– captive breeding of the species;
– release of captive-born juveniles into the wild;
– management of supplementary feeding sites (feeding stations).
